Hi! I’m Hoang Dieu Tien Tran, but you can just call me Tien. I’m originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and now based in California. I’ve always loved movies, animation, and video games. Those early interests sparked my passion for art and eventually led me into the world of design.
I graduated from San Jose State University in 2022 with a degree in graphic design, and I’m currently pursuing my MFA in Interaction and UI/UX Design at the Academy of Art University, with plans to graduate in 2028. My work spans print, digital, and interactive design, combining clean, colorful aesthetics with purposeful storytelling and user-centered thinking.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked with a range of companies and organizations including Roots of Success, Relay Publishing, Essential Access Health, Stanford's Asian Liver Center, and Glow Candle Lounge. My experience includes brand identity design, marketing campaigns, web design, instructional materials, social media content, and more. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD, and HTML, I’m comfortable designing for both static and dynamic formats. I’ve also led design teams, taught interns, and collaborated cross-functionally with marketing and development teams.
I’m always looking to grow as a designer, keep learning new tools and ideas, and connect with creative people along the way.
