This project is a multi-format exploration of Paul Renner and his iconic typeface Futura, blending graphic design with UI/UX to tell a visual and interactive story. It features an interactive timeline that walks through the history and influence of Futura, along with a coordinated set of print pieces: a trifold brochure, a poster, and a t-shirt design. Together, these elements showcase how Futura has evolved and stayed relevant across time and media.
The visual language throughout the project is heavily inspired by the Bauhaus movement, which shaped Renner’s own design thinking. I used a bold, minimal color palette of red, blue, yellow, and black, along with geometric shapes like circles, triangles, and rectangles. These forms and colors carry through every piece to create a strong, unified look that reflects Bauhaus ideals of clarity, function, and structure.
The interactive timeline focuses on making the user experience smooth and engaging, allowing viewers to explore Futura’s story in a way that feels intuitive. The print designs extend the same visual style into physical formats, offering a more tactile experience of the concept. Overall, this project is both a celebration of Renner’s legacy and a chance to reimagine Futura through a contemporary design lens.
